Lata Mangeshkar passed away on Sunday. Her last rites were performed at Shivaji Park in Mumbai with state honours yesterday. A lot of celebrities and politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, came to bid her a final farewell. Now today i.e. on Monday, Lata Mangeshkar's nephew Adinath Mangeshkar was seen performing the rituals after the last rites and carrying away the ashes. Adinath Mangeshkar is the son of Lata Mangeshkar's younger brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
Today i.e. on Monday, he was seen carrying the ashes from the funeral place. On the other hand, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Kiran Dighavkar said, 'We have handed over the ashes to Adinath. He is the brother of Lata Mangeshkar and the son of music composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar. Lata Mangeshkar was unmarried throughout her life, so her brother's family is doing all the things related to her funeral. Yesterday the body of Lata Mangeshkar was taken to Shivaji Park Stadium with full respect. Here the vehicle by which her body was taken to the stadium was decorated with white flowers and a huge picture of her was also put up. On the other hand, while marching with the police personnel, her body was wrapped in tricolour.
At the funeral, a lot of celebrities and politicians including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Sachin Tendulkar, Anuradha Podwal, Shankar Mahadevan and Vidya Balan were present at the funeral. Apart from all these, ministers including Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Piyush Goyal and Sharad Pawar were also present here to bid a final farewell to Lata Didi. Yesterday, eight priests dressed in white clothes performed the last rites and Lata Mangeshkar's brother Hridaynath gave the pyre a facade.
