New Delhi: The "Indie" scooter has been introduced in India by Bengaluru-based EV start-up River. Additionally, reservations for the vehicle have started. The two-highlights wheeler's include its distinctive design and extensive feature set, which includes USB ports and a digital instrument cluster.
It has an electric drivetrain and claims to have a range of up to 120 kilometres on a single charge.
New models have recently flooded the Indian electric scooter market. The River Indie stands out from the competition in such a crowded market because of its unique appearance. The car competes against rivals in our nation like the Ather 450X Gen 3, TVS iQube, and Ola S1 Pro. It will undoubtedly draw a lot of customers.

The River Indie does have a plain footboard, a single-piece seat with a 42-liter storage compartment underneath it that is illuminated by LEDs, a 12-liter lockable glove box, and a front apron mounted with headlights.
The scooter includes two square headlights, a digital instrument cluster with a screen that changes colour depending on the surrounding light, and two USB charging ports. It has blacked-out 14-inch wheels and a 165mm ground clearance.

The River Indie has a 4kWh battery pack connected to a 6.7kW electric motor. With this configuration, the car can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.9 seconds and travel 120 km on a single charge. It can also reach a top speed of 90 km/h.
River Indie has disc brakes on both wheels for the rider's safety and a combined braking system for better handling. Additionally, it has a Reverse mode, Eco, Ride, and Rush modes. Telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back are responsible for the two-suspension.

The cost of the River Indie electric scooter in India is Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The two-wheeler is currently available for reservation on the brand's official website, and deliveries will start in August.
