New Delhi: The renowned motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has released a limited edition version of its Interceptor 650 for international markets. It goes by the name "Lightning."

It is essentially a fully-equipped variation of the middleweight model with retro-inspired styling, featuring extras like a touring seat with ribbed pattern, an aluminium sump guard, touring mirrors, and other items from the company's accessory catalogue.

When they debuted in 2018, Royal Enfield's Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, which were both inspired by British motorcycles from the 1960s, were well-received by both consumers and reviewers.

The Chennai-based company is now introducing special edition Lightning and Thunder models for the motorcycles, though, as the competition advances with modern features. To increase the popularity of the bikes, this action is taken.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Lightning maintains the standard model's appearance. It features a round, chrome-encircled halogen headlight, a wide handlebar with circular mirrors, a flat-style seat, two upswept exhausts, a tubular grab rail, and a squarish halogen taillamp.

The fuel tank is shaped like a teardrop and has hand-painted pinstripes on it. The motorcycle has wire-spoked wheels and a twin-pod semi-digital instrument console.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Lightning has dual-channel ABS for better braking performance and disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels for the rider's safety. Large 41mm telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorber units at the back handle the suspension duties on the retro-inspired motorcycle.
