Lawrence gang now threatens Congress minister Govind Ram, Rajasthan police engaged in investigation

Jaipur: Thecase of threatening Govind Ram Meghwal, a minister in the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan, has come in favour. This threat to the minister has been given by the Lawrence Gang. Along with this, the gang has demanded a ransom of Rs 70 lakh from minister Meghwal. A demand of Rs.70 lakh has been made by posing as a member of a Sopu gang. Minister Meghwal has complained to DGP ML Lather.  

Govind Ram Meghwal is a Congress MLA from Khajuwala in Bikaner. Meghwal is the Disaster Management Minister in the state government. The entire family, including his son Pradhan Gaurav, has been threatened by the gang. Minister Meghwal said that Rs 70 lakh has been demanded. The police are investigating the entire case. At present, Govind Ram Meghwal is locked in the congress cordon. The Congress MLA is staying in a hotel in Udaipur. The minister being threatened in the Congress barricades has raised questions on the functioning of the police.

The threatener has described himself as a member of the Students Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU), an organisation of the Lawrence gang. Along with the threat, meghwal has also sent pictures of his daughter and son on WhatsApp. It threatened to claim that there was no security with them. A ransom was also demanded. The police are investigating the entire case. The crime branch of the police is engaged in the investigation.
