New Delhi: The Left Party will hold a nationwide protest across the country on Wednesday over the rising prices of essential commodities and medicines. This was reported by the 'LEFT' party including communist party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, All India Forward Bloc, Revolutionary Socialist Party and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist)-Liberation in a joint statement on Sunday.
According to a statement made by the parties, the protest against rising inflation will begin on June 16 and end on June 30. In the protest, the parties will demand the Central government to withdraw the increased fuel prices and control the prices of essential commodities and medicines. The LEFT party alleged that such a hike in the prices of all essential commodities is affecting the livelihood of the people. He said that instead of helping the people deal with the scourge of corona health havoc at this time of epidemic, the Narendra Modi government has increased the prices of petroleum products by at least 21 times.
A joint statement of the Left party said, 'The prices of food items in the state have increased by about 5 per cent in April. Primary goods have shown a growth of 10.16 percent and manufactured products have increased by 9.01 percent. By the time these items reach the retail markets, consumers will be charged a lot of money'.
