Hiram Kasten, the talented actor known for his roles in popular TV shows like 'Seinfeld', 'Saved by the Bell', and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', has passed away at the age of 71. The New York Post reported his death, sharing that he had been battling prostate cancer.

According to a heartfelt Facebook post, Kasten died in the arms of his wife, Diana Kisiel Kastenbaum, just hours after they celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. Along with cancer, Kasten had also been suffering from Crohn's disease for the past seven years. He died peacefully at his home in Batavia, New York.

Kasten's health began to decline in 2017, leading him to step back from his career. He only recently shared the full extent of his illness with friends in the last six months. Despite his struggles, Kasten's community of fellow comedians and artists provided him with immense support. Friends made trips to Batavia to visit him, and late-night Zoom meetings with colleagues from both coasts often lasted into the early morning hours.

Diana, his wife, shared that these interactions gave him two additional months of life, filled with laughter and joy. Kasten's most notable role was playing Michael on 'Seinfeld' from 1993 to 1994. He made his mark in the comedy world as a regular performer at The Comic Strip, a famous NYC club where he first met Jerry Seinfeld. Their friendship spanned 45 years, starting when Seinfeld approved Kasten on his first audition.
