Legendary Punjabi Singer Balwinder Safri passes away at 63

One of the most famous Punjabi singers Balwinder Safri passes away on Wednesday night at the age of 63. Balwinder was hospitalized in April this year, after undergoing heart surgery. However, he later went into a coma. The singer was discharged from the hospital after being admitted for 86 days, but he could not survive and passed away on July 26.

This news came as a shock for the fans of Punjabi songs as Balwinder Safri was a big name in the Punjabi folk music industry, well-known for his songs, 'Chan Mere Makhna', 'Pao Bhangra' and 'Paar Linghade', these were loved by all. 

As soon as people learned about the news, Several popular celebrities in the Punjabi entertainment industry and others paid tribute to the legendary singer.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh also tweeted, “Saddened to learn about the death of Punjabi music legend Balwinder Safri today. My heartfelt condolences are with his family and millions of Punjabi fans around the world.

Diljit Dosanjh took to his social media to pay his tribute. Sharing a picture of Balwinder Safri, he wrote, "WAHEGURU...Balwinder Safri Ji."

Actress Neeru wrote, "Menu yaad hai Balwinder ji nu asi window tho dekya si during beautifulbillo shoot… we were so excited. He so graciously came up to meet us. Dont make them like that anymore…. Thank you Sir for giving Punjabi music industry so much.
