Harsimat Kaur Badal is Union Cabinet minister of food processing and member of parliament from Bathinda. On the occasion of her birthday, we bring you a few lesser known facts about her.

  • She was born on 25 July 1966 in Delhi into a family that traces its root to Attar Singh Majithia. She has done her Schooling from Loreto convent school.
  • She comes from a family that founded a prominent Chandigarh newspaper ‘Turbine’.
  • Harsimrat Kaur Badal has done her diploma in textile design from Delhi University.
  • She tied Knott to Sukhbir Singh Badal at the age of 25 and they have two daughters, Gurleen and Harkirat and a son Anantbir Singh. Her Husband is was the deputy chief minister of Punjab and president of the political party Shiromani Akali Dal.
