Kaimur: The Anti-Liquor Task Force has achieved great success in the Kaimur district of Bihar. As many as 654 English liquor boxes were recovered during checking at the Samenkit check-post in Mohania. Liquor was being smuggled here under the guise of onion sacks. The police arrested the truck driver and started investigating the matter. The value of the seized liquor is said to be over Rs 50 lakh. Efforts are being made by the police to find out where these liquor boxes were to be supplied in Bihar.
After entering the border of Bihar from UP, a truck going towards Sasaram was stopped and started an investigation. Large sacks of onions were kept on top and front of the truck. The liquor boxes hidden behind them were not visible. But when the Anti-Liquor team removed the onion sacks and searched them thoroughly, many boxes of English liquor were seen. After that, the truck was taken to the Durgavati police station and the onion sack was removed there and all the liquor boxes were taken out.
There were 21,876 bottles in 654 liquor boxes inside the same truck. Whose price is being estimated at more than Rs 50 lakh. Police have arrested the truck driver and are trying to find out where this liquor was to be supplied in Bihar. On this matter, Excise Superintendent Rakesh Kumar said that a large number of liquor boxes have been seized from the truck under the guise of onion bags. The truck driver is being questioned.
