The much-awaited consecration ceremony of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, scheduled for January 22, will not only be aired across India but will also illuminate the iconic Times Square in New York City.

Sources said that the 'Pran-Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Lalla will be live-streamed not just at various Indian embassies and consulates worldwide but also at Times Square, offering a global audience the chance to witness this historic event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to address devotees of Bhagwan Ram both within the country and abroad during the ceremony.

This initiative follows the digital billboard display of the Ram Mandir at Times Square during the 'Bhoomi Pujan' in August 2020, where PM Modi performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the grand temple in Ayodhya.

In preparation for the event, the ruling BJP has directed its workers to install large screens at booth levels for the live telecast of the Shri Ram consecration, aiming to provide a platform for the public to participate in this significant moment.

The sacred Vedic rituals for the 'Pran-Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Lalla are scheduled to commence on January 16, a week ahead of the main ceremony. Notably, a 51-inch tall Krishna Shila idol of Lord Ram, adorned in a dark hue known as Shyam Varn, has been carefully chosen for the event. This idol symbolizes divinity, regality, and the pure innocence of a child.

The main rituals during the consecration ceremony on January 22 in Ayodhya will be conducted by Varanasi priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit. Alongside these ceremonies, a grand 1008 Hundi Mahayagya is planned, aimed at providing sustenance to thousands of devotees expected to attend. To accommodate the influx of devotees, numerous tent cities are being erected in Ayodhya as part of the festive arrangements.
