Live Budget 2022: 400 new Vande Bharat trains to be built in 3 years

New Delhi: Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, declared on Tuesday that the Vande Bharat Express will be introduced in the next three years. Moving forward on this parallel track, we lay the following four priorities - PM Gati Shakti, inclusive development, productivity enhancement and investment, sunrise opportunities, energy transition and climate action & financing of investments, said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley while presenting the Union Budget for 2022-23 in the Lok Sabha.

Also, the government would promote innovative funding methods and faster construction of metro projects. Finance Minsiter said, multimodal connectivity between public transit and railway terminals will be prioritised. Metro systems, including civil constructions, will be redesigned and standardised to meet Indian circumstances and requirements. The goal is to improve commuter connectivity and convenience while also promoting tourism.

The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for reaching Aatma Nirbhar Bharat has received a lot of support, with the potential to create 60 lakh new jobs and 30 lakh crore in additional production over the next few years, she said.
