New Delhi: The country's largest court has adjourned the hearing of the loan moratorium case till November 18. As soon as the hearing of the case started on Thursday in front of a bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan, the petitioner praised the government's steps in this direction. The petitioner has thanked Finance Ministry, Reserve Bank and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta for exemption from interest on interest.
Additional Solicitor General Venkataraman, appearing for the Center, told the bench that Mehta is busy hearing the case related to the Central Vista project, so the hearing should be adjourned. Meanwhile, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi appearing for the companies of the power sector said that the entire power sector is facing problems. While the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said that it is facing a lot of problems due to the ban on the declaration of non-performing assets (NPA).
To this, the court said that the RBI can present its case in the next hearing on this point. Meanwhile, senior advocate Harish Salve was also heard giving some arguments, but till then the bench deferred hearing till November 18.
