Due to the Chandigarh lockdown, the workers who are walking towards their destination on foot. They will now be stopped in various districts and kept in camps until the local administration makes proper arrangements for their departure. The Haryana government has issued instructions in this regard to the Deputy Commissioners of all districts.

In his statement, Chief Secretary Keshani Anand Arora said that lockdown-4 has started and as per the instructions of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the District Deputy Commissioner should ensure that no migrant laborers go on foot in their home states, all such migrant laborers should be counseled and be kept in relief camps, until the respective district administration arranges to go to their home states.

The Chief Secretary, while interacting with the District Deputy Commissioners and the Nodal Officers appointed for Covid-19, through video conferencing on Wednesday said that till now the state government has made arrangements to keep these migrant laborers and their food. The initiative taken for this has been praised all over the country and the remaining migrant laborers have also been sent to their homes in a safe and orderly manner.
