Lockdown in Aurangabad canceled, revised guidelines to be issued soon

Aurangabad: Maharashtra has observed a surge of corona cases in the state. Recently, the lockdown decision in Aurangabad was discussed from Tuesday night, amid mounting cases in the city. Sunil Chauhan has decided to cancel the lockdown imposition and revise the restriction guidelines.

Talking to the media, the Aurangabad city collector, Sunil Chauhan told that the lockdown which was to be imposed from March 31 till April 9 has been canceled. He also quoted "We have discussed with NGOs, other organizations and political associations, it was also discussed with the government and the lockdown which was scheduled from 12:00 pm till April 9, has been canceled,” to news agency ANI. Earlier, on March 13, a substantial dip was taken considering the spread of coronavirus cases in which the Aurangabad administration imposed a complete lockdown on weekends and partial lockdown on weekdays. The administration directed the monuments in the area to remain shut till 4 April. 

Meanwhile, talking about the condition of the state, on Tuesday, Maharashtra registered 27,918 new active cases and death toll reported as 139 deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 27,73,436 have been infected while as many as 23,77,127 people have recovered from the disease so far. Currently, the state has 3,40,542 active cases, while 54,422 have lost their lives.
