Lockdown has been imposed everywhere due to Corona. Despite the lockdown, people are not stopping coming. In such a situation, seven thousand vehicles are being routed daily from Indore bypass. Most of them are big commercial vehicles, so toll tax is also getting enough. Maximum number of vehicles are passing through the toll plaza located bypass, while barely 100-200 vehicles are passing through Mangalia toll plaza daily. Due to the good number of commercial vehicles, the company that collects toll even during lockdown is getting 40 percent tax on average every day.

Let us tell you that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) gave permission to start toll collection on the national highway across the country from 12 noon on 19 April. Since then, on an average seven thousand vehicles are passing daily including Indore bypass and Mangalia toll plaza. Officials of the Indore-Dewas Tollways Company say that most of the essential supply vehicles are passing through the main toll plaza of the bypass. These vehicles are big and heavy vehicles, so the collection of toll tax is getting relatively good. Many vehicles also belong to government departments which are engaged in the task of dealing with Corona. There are a few private vehicles which are being allowed to go after seeing government permission.

According to Ajay Pandey, Team Leader of Indore-Dewas Tollways Company, the average bypass toll plaza is Rs 21-22 lakhs daily on normal days, which is now getting between Rs 8 to 10 lakhs daily. The villagers have stopped the roads of Mangalia village, so the vehicles that used to reach the Mangalia toll plaza within, are also coming from the bypass side.
