New Delhi: The situation in the country has worsened due to the Corona epidemic. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday clarified that the government will not impose 'lockdown' on a large scale and only local control measures will be taken to curb the epidemic. .She said this amid the growing case of coronavirus in the country. In an 'online' meeting with David Malpas, President of the World Bank Group, Sitharaman praised World Bank's initiative for development for India and for expanding the scope of greater credit facility. 

At the same time, the Finance Ministry has written on Twitter, "The Finance Minister has introduced a five-point strategy to prevent the spread of the corona infection epidemic, including investigation, detection, treatment, vaccination and appropriate conduct to prevent the spread of corona". Shares the steps taken by the government. she said "Even after the transition has spread for the second time, it is our clear stand that we are not going to impose 'lockdown' on a large scale. We do not want to bring the economy to a standstill. Measures will be taken to keep the corona patients or families separate at the local level'". 

The decision will be dealt with through local control measures. The lockdown will not be imposed. According to a World Bank statement, Malpas and the Finance Minister discussed the importance of civil service and financial sector reform between the group and India and the stake in various sectors including water resources management and health. Both discussed the domestic vaccine production capacity along with the steps being taken to combat corona in India. Malpas reiterated the World Bank Group's commitment to supporting India's efforts to prevent the Corona epidemic and to eradicate poverty.
