The research team that carried out the project includes Deepak Deb, Anant Kumar Rajput and Manish Kotni and Professor Dr. Justin Samyul, B.Tech students of the university. According to Deepak, existing N-95 or surgical masks filter out pollutants or microbes, but these pollutants do not filter gases such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfur dioxide, carbonamonoxide, VOC and odor from disinfectants and cleansers. Similar masks are used in hospital wards.
