In the midst of a nationwide lockdown and the Corona crisis, preparations have begun to open hotels and malls in all states except the container areas across the country following the order of the Union Home Ministry. As per the guidelines issued by the Center, mall management in Kerala is ready with all security related precautions.

In his statement, the manager of Mall of Travancore, Aafshin KP, said, 'We are all waiting for the mall to reopen. We have to provide safe environment to the customer. Our staff is currently busy sanitizing the mall. We have made a mark around the mall so that physical distance can be followed." He said, "On every floor there will be an officer who will be responsible for following the rules of physical distance. There will be 30-35 locations in the building where sanitizing will be arranged."

In the new guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs till June 30, the roadmap to remove the restrictions in three phases is presented. In the first phase, religious places, hotels, restaurants and malls will open from June 8. In the second phase, schools, colleges and other educational institutions will be opened from July. In the third phase, international air travel will be opened including metro, cinema hall, gym, swimming pool. No dates have been set for this yet. Lockdown is underway from March 25 to prevent the infection of Novel Coronavirus, which is now being opened in a phased manner.
