NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha was adjourned indefinitely on Friday, six days ahead of schedule.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla informed the members that 97 percent of work production was recorded during the winter session before adjourning the House.

Thirteen sessions totaling 68 hours and 42 minutes were held during the course of the session, which commenced on December 7, bringing the productivity to 97 percent.

Birla informed the audience that seven out of the nine government bills that were introduced were passed. The speaker said,  the members brought up 298 problems that were under Rule 377 as well as 374 important public concerns.

The ministers made a total of 43 statements and laid 1,811 papers on the table.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi were present in the House. For their assistance in the House proceedings, he congratulated the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and party leaders from all sides.
