Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with the NDA Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) on Wednesday before the Rajya Sabha polls.

This comes after an ally of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh threatened to boycott Rajya Sabha elections.

Rajbhar had said to boycott the Rajya Sabha elections if Amit Shah did not meet him on Monday. He had not attended the party to mark one year of the Yogi government.

“I'll talk to him first & lay down our demands. If after that he says, he won't accept those demands, we'll part our ways. In politics no alliance is permanent,” said Om Prakash Rajbhar before the meeting.

On Tuesday, UP Minister and President of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party Om Prakash Rajbhar had met BJP president Amit Shah following which he had said to support BJP in the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls. Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party is an ally of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

“He (Shah) has assured that he is with me. He will come to Lucknow on April 10 and hold a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP state president Mahendra Nath Pandey and state general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal and resolve all my problems,” said Rajbhara after the meeting.

The polls will be held on March 23.
