Employees working in the cities of Lucknow and Noida were now getting 'Y' category allowances, which employees are now entitled to 'X' category allowances. The biggest reason for this is that with the creation of Lucknow and Noida as the metropolitan cities for implementing the police commissioner system, the ways in which the status of these cities have changed. Whereas, according to the category of cities, the city compensation allowance will also increase from 33 to 66 percent.
This increase will come from the increase in house rent allowance (HRA) and city compensation allowance (CCA). At the same time, the salary of the state government personnel working in both metropolitan cities of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow and Noida will be increased by up to one thousand rupees. Both these allowances in Noida and Lucknow will be given at the rate of X category of metro cities. Till now there is no city of this status in the state because X allowances were not being given anywhere.
For your information, let us tell you that after making Lucknow and Noida a metropolitan city, the state employees combined to give house rent allowance (HRA) and city compensation allowance (CCA) at the same rate under the central government's mandate. The council is now going to put the whole matter in front of the chief secretary RK Tiwari. Council President Harikishor Tiwari and General Secretary Shivbaran Singh Yadav have demanded to allow both allowances as per the X category to the employees, officers and employees of other departments including teachers, local bodies and municipal corporations, along with personnel of all state departments in these two cities.
