After being burnt alive on Thursday, the rape victim was taken to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi in critical condition. She had burnt up to 90 percent. The head of the burn and plastic surgery department of Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Shalabh Kumar said that despite all efforts, the victim could not be saved. He said, "In the evening, his (victim's) condition started deteriorating. He suffered a heart attack at 11.10 pm. We tried to save him, but he died at 11.40 pm."
