Bhopal: The Shivraj cabinet on Wednesday approved a new bar license policy for the year 2021-22. It is being said that if this new policy is accepted, then the bars of hotels, restaurants, resorts, and clubs in the state will be opened till 2 pm with conditions. With this, an additional fee of 5 thousand will have to be paid. Along with this, you will be able to serve liquor in the campus park along with the bar in the hotels. Apart from all these, for other convenience, hotels will have to pay an additional fee of Rs 10,000.

The collector of the concerned district will be allowed to operate the bar for additional time. However, it will depend on the collector's discretion as to how many times a year he will allow hotels, restaurants, resorts, and clubs to open the bar till 2 o'clock in the night. With this, the new policy has been fixed at its maximum limit of 8 times a year. The time of closure is 12 o'clock in the night, but if the collector wants, he cannot allow it. As the new bar license is considered, the bar run by the three-star hotel and the Tourism Development Corporation will be licensed for 3 years.

So far this license is given for 1 year. Just like the commercial club of the license (FL-3), the category has been abolished. In fact, the bar operators will now be able to double the stock of liquor and, at the same time, it has been decided to increase the annual price of the Bhaang shops by 10%.
