Madhya Pradesh Budget 2024 LIVE: Focus on Farmers, Women, and Infrastructure

Madhya Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, Jagdish Devda, presented the state budget for the financial year 2024-25 on Wednesday. The budget, termed as all-inclusive, was presented amid opposition slogans during the Monsoon Session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

Key Highlights of the MP Budget 2024:
Electricity and Infrastructure:

Electricity Yojana: Rs 520 crore has been allocated.
Gaushalas: Rs 590 crore is set aside.
Forest and Environment: Rs 4,725 crore allocated.

Police and Safety:

Police Recruitment: The state will fill 7,500 positions.
Police Housing Yojana: Rs 367 crore has been designated.

Sanitation and Health:

Swacch Mission Yojana: Rs 500 crore allotted.
Pensions for Differently Abled: Rs 4,421 crore set aside.
Health Centres: Rs 21,144 crore will be spent on health facilities.
Ayurved Hospitals: Five new hospitals to be built in Balaghat, Sagar, Sahdol, Morena, and Narmadapuram.

Education and Development:

Road Upgradation: Rs 900 crore allocated.
Sports: Rs 568 crore earmarked.

New Universities: Three new universities will be established.
CM Rise Schools: Rs 667 crore sanctioned to improve education standards, building on the initiative to set up 9,000 schools.
Akansha Yojana: Rs 10 crore designated.
Urban Development:

Nagar Nikay: Rs 5,000 crore allotted for urban bodies.
PM Sinchai Yojana: Rs 300 crore.
PM Awas Yojana: Rs 4,000 crore.

Welfare Schemes:

CM Laadli Behna Yojana: Rs 36,560 crore allocated to enhance the welfare of women across the state.

Finance Minister Devda emphasized that the budget is designed to cater to all segments of society, including women, youth, farmers, and the underprivileged. The session, which began on Monday, will continue until July 19.
