Farmers' Protest: Madhya Pradesh Police issues arrest warrant against Rakesh Tikait

New Delhi: The farmer movement that has been going on for a long time in Delhi is being led by many farmer leaders from all over the country. One of these leaders is Rakesh Tikait. Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), has once again given impetus to the slow farmers movement. He has emerged as the popular peasant leader of the country.

According to the media report, the arrest warrant has been issued by the Anuppur district court of Madhya Pradesh against BKU leader Rakesh Tikait. If Tikait comes to Madhya Pradesh, then he can possibly be arrested. According to the information, on the one hand, Tikait has announced to conduct a panchayat on March 8 among the farmers of Madhya Pradesh. The state police is also preparing to arrest Rakesh Tikait.

In 2012, an arrest warrant has been issued against him in Anuppur district for attempt to murder and spreading disorder. Tikait came here in 2012 to lead a protest against a power plant in Jaithari area of Anuppur, a movement that led to widespread violence. 114 people including Rakesh Tikait were accused in this movement. During this time, everyone was arrested and presented in the court. All farmers and peasant leaders got bail from the court. As per the rules, all the accused were to appear in the dates given by the court. Tikait has been absent from the muscle since 2016. The court has now issued an arrest warrant.
