Indore: Bus services stopped due to lockdown. But now the bus owners have got permission to run the bus. Buses are not being operated by the bus owners even after the Madhya Pradesh government has given permission. The reason for this is that the operation of buses on old fare charges is a loss deal due to the huge increase in diesel prices. Due to this, the bus owners have demanded a 55 percent increase in the fares of the buses. The bus owners say that buses cannot be operated until an increase in fares is allowed.

In this regard, Govind Sharma, President of the Prime Route Bus Honors Association, said that we have asked the state government to waive the tax imposed during the lockdown period, but the government is not accepting this, while the government of other states waived the tax. The price of diesel has increased by 26 percent compared to March 2020. When the lockdown was imposed due to Corona, the price of one litre of diesel in March was around 63 rupees which have currently reached 80 rupees. Since March, diesel prices have increased by Rs 17 per litre.

Due to this, buses cannot be operated with old fares. Apart from this, due to the Corona virus, the rules of physical distance will have to be followed in the buses, due to which the passengers in the buses will be able to sit below capacity. This will cause a lot of damage to bus owners. This time the officials of the association say that small bus operators who have to bear the expenses including instalments of buses, RTO tax, the salary of driver-cleaner will not be able to do business, so it is better to run the bus at a loss The operation of buses should be stopped.
