Bhopal: About 15 km from Shajapur district headquarters in Madhya Pradesh, a school van fell into a pit filled with water. There were 24 children in the van, 4 have died due to drowning in water. Whereas, some other children fainted. The accident took place with children studying at the Advance Academy located in Richoda village. After the school was over, the van full of children fell into the pit as soon as the driver took the reverse.

This pit was as deep and large as a well, which was located just a few feet away from the school. Seeing the van falling into it, there was chaos in the surrounding people. People leap into that pit to save the children. CM Kamal Nath has given information about the accident by tweeting. He wrote, "A private school in Richoda in Shajapur fell into the well full of school children. Instructions have been given to do immediate relief work. We have condolences to the families of the children who died in the accident. Arrangements have been made to ensure the proper treatment of injured children. The government stands in the hour of grief with the families of the victims".

According to media reports, the search for a child in a water-logged van is still on. However, 18 children have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment. The accident took place 15 km from the district headquarters. Divers are searching for a child who has not been found.
