Rain increased concerns in MP, Home Minister said- 'No need to worry...'

Bhopal: There has been a relief from cold waves in MP, but rain and hailstorm have increased the problem in many areas. It rained heavily in Bhopal and Indore late at night. Rain was recorded at many places including Tikamgarh, Khajuraho. Visibility was affected due to fog in Gwalior. On Thursday, the hailstorm in Mandsaur and Guna has damaged the crops. In view of this, the state government has given instructions to assess the loss. The same IMD has issued an orange alert for some cities along with the Gwalior and Chambal divisions and a yellow alert for some cities of Rewa, Sagar, Indore and Ujjain divisions. On Thursday, rainfall occurred at most places in Bhopal, Gwalior and Chambal and Sagar divisions, in some cities of Indore and Ujjain divisions and at isolated places in Rewa, Jabalpur and Hoshangabad divisions. Narsinghpur recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has warned of lightning and short-lived hailstorm at isolated places in the cities of Gwalior and Chambal divisions and in Rajgarh, Vidisha, Agar and Shajapur districts. Along with this, thunderstorms and lightning have been forecast in the cities of Rewa and Sagar divisions and in the cities of Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ujjain, Ratlam, Dewas, Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Indore, Dhar, Alirajpur and Jhabua. Rajnagar, Ajaygarh, Orchha received 5-5 cm, Khajuraho, Chhatarpur, Bhopal 4-4 cm, Shajapur, Raun, Gyaraspur, Pichhor, Nateran, Gwalior, Vidisha, Sarangpur, Lavkushnagar, Naugaon and Panna received 3-3 cm of rain. Dense fog was observed in Gwalior, while light to moderate fog was reported in Khajuraho and Satna.

 

With this, MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra said on Friday that heavy rainfall was reported from Guna, Rajgarh and Vidisha. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself is overseeing the cases. He has asked Rajgarh and Guna district magistrates to go to villages immediately. Water has been falling in the Bhopal division since morning. We have instructed all revenue officers to assess the heavy rainfall. The CM himself is looking into the matter. Farmers need not worry. The Government is with them.
