Indore: The MP government has decided that financial assistance will be given to the women victims of domestic violence. If husband, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, brother-in-law harass a woman and there is a loss of 40 percent in violence, then financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh will be given. If there is more loss than this, Rs 4 lakh will be given. Along with this, the state government will also bear the cost of commuting and treatment due to the case in court.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the MP Cabinet chaired by the CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. State Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra said that in case of domestic violence, the woman has to apply to the district collector. In this case, CMHO, women child development officers and police will work together and try to empower the woman. Financial assistance is provided to the woman only after she is found guilty in the scheme so far. Under the new rules, its mandatory has been abolished. Some decisions have also been taken under the Excise Policy. It has been decided that liquor contracts will be awarded to small groups. Liquor made from mahue will be made tax free in 89 development blocks of the state.
Other important decisions:-
* The name of The Department of Welfare of Free Nomads and Semi-Nomadic Tribes has been changed to Department of Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribal Welfare.
* It has been decided to extend the tenure of the General Category Welfare Commission by two years.
* 5 marks additional will be given to personnel working in Government departments in recruitment examinations. This will benefit up to the age of 55 years.
* Leases of shops, houses constructed on government land will be given in urban areas. The lease amount has been fixed for the same. Residents will also be able to take loans.
* Direct recruitment of 25% specialist posts of the Health Department was allowed. Action has also been decided to fill up the remaining 75% of posts.
