Hyderabad: Prominent magician Samala Venu will contest as an independent candidate from Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar graduate constituencies in Hyderabad.

On Sunday, the magician addressed the media, "I want to compete as a graduate MLC to support and bring telangana youth and people to light."

The state and central governments have failed to use the youth power. "The government has not issued a youth policy and has not focused on the welfare and development of youth," he said.

197 new cases of corona virus infection

On January 24, 197 new corona virus cases in Telangana reached 2.93 lakh in the state, with the death toll of infectious diseases in the state to 1589 after another patient died. The state government gave this information on Sunday.

The government bulletin said that the highest number of cases of infection in greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GSMC) were 32 cases, 13 cases in Karimnagar, 12 in Malkajgiri and Ranga Reddy. These figures will last until January 23 at 8 pm.

After the new cases in the state, the total number of infected persons has risen to 2,93,253, with 2,88,275 patients staying healthy here so far. According to the bulletin, 3,389 patients were being treated in the state and 29,560 samples were examined on Saturday. A total of 76.62 lakh samples have been tested so far in the state.
