The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is all set to operate a Bharat Gaurav tourist train named ‘Maha Kumbh Special’ from Tirunelveli to Varanasi in January 2025. This exclusive train tour is designed to provide a convenient and comfortable travel experience for pilgrims visiting Varanasi, Prayagraj (Kumbh Mela), and Ayodhya.
Key Details of the Train Tour
The Maha Kumbh Special will depart from Tirunelveli on January 16, 2025, and return on January 24, 2025, covering prominent spiritual destinations. The train comprises one AC three-tier coach, ten sleeper coaches, a pantry car, and two power cars, ensuring a smooth and well-equipped journey.

P. Rajalingam Basu, the Group General Manager of IRCTC’s South Zone, stated that this tour is part of a series of Bharat Gaurav trains aimed at enhancing spiritual tourism in India. The South Zone will also operate Bharat Gaurav trains from Puducherry and Coimbatore for the Kumbh Mela.
