MUMBAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Mumbai on Wednesday,  January 15, where he will meet with MLAs from the BJP-led Mahayuti government.

Speaking about the upcoming meeting, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, - Prime Minister Narendra  Modi is visiting Mumbai on January 15 to guide the Mahayuti MLAs. The people have given us an overwhelming mandate, which increases our responsibility. In today’s meeting, we discussed our party’s organizational strategies, decisions, and preparations for the upcoming local body elections. The Prime Minister’s continuous support over the past two and a half years has been instrumental in our government’s performance, which is why we have earned such a massive majority."

During his visit, PM Modi will also attend the commissioning of three major naval combatants—INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer—at the Navy Dockyard. These additions mark a significant step in bolstering India's maritime security and defense manufacturing capabilities.

Key Highlights of the Naval Projects

INS Nilgiri: The first ship of the P17A Stealth Frigate Project, designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau, is a next-generation frigate equipped with advanced features for stealth, survivability, and seakeeping.

INS Surat: The fourth and final destroyer of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer Project is one of the world’s largest and most advanced destroyers. With 75 percent indigenous content, it boasts advanced weaponry, sensors, and network-centric capabilities.

INS Vaghsheer: The sixth and final submarine of the P75 Scorpene Project, built in collaboration with France’s Naval Group, represents India’s growing expertise in submarine construction.

ISKCON Temple Inauguration

PM Modi will also inaugurate the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple, an ISKCON project located in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Spanning nine acres, the project includes a temple with multiple deities, a Vedic education center, proposed museums, an auditorium, and a healing center. According to an official release, the temple aims to foster universal brotherhood, peace, and harmony through Vedic teachings.

Navi Mumbai Traffic Restrictions Announced:

Meanwhile, Navi Mumbai Police have issued a notification restricting traffic in several areas due to an upcoming VIP event. Only VIP vehicles, police vehicles, emergency services, and dignitaries attending the event will be permitted in the restricted zones.

The affected areas include both lanes of the road stretching from Ove Gaon Police Chowki to J. Kumar Circle, the road from Gurudwara Chowk to J. Kumar Circle via BD Somani School, and the section of the road between gate number 1 and gate number 2 of the ISKCON temple.
