Ujjain: The festival of Makar Sankranti will be celebrated today by the Sun's Uttarayan. Today, this special festival is also going to be celebrated in the courtyard of Rajaraja Mahakal. At 4 o'clock in the morning, the priest has taken the lord Mahakal to bathe in sesame seeds and enjoy the ladoos. Earlier Wednesday evening, the sanctum and Nandhall have been decorated with kites whose photos are now going viral. Today, on the Sankranti, the townspeople are ready to donate by taking a dip of faith in the waters of Shipra-Narmada. The Mahakal temple today has charming makeup with new clothes and jewellery.

Today, the kite decoration has been done on Makar Sankranti at the Sandipani Ashram. At 6 o'clock in the morning, Lord Krishna, Balram and Sudamaji have been bathed with sesame water. In addition, Aarti was done with the indulgence of jaggery sesame ladoos. Today, the temple sanctum is decorated with colourful kites. Today, Radha-Rukmini with kite-flying Gopalji's tableau is going to be the centre of attraction. Today, Lord Sun ride on Makar Sankranti is going to be made at Shri Navagraha Shani Mandir at Triveni Sangam.

The ride is going to include a large number of devotees with 51 Batathank and 11 Brahmins. It is said that the mantras of Sun and Saturn will be followed by pandits. Donations on Makar Sankranti have special significance and after the pilgrim bathing on this day, the Vedic Brahmins should visit Tirth places and provide Dakshana with sesame jaggery.
