Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday started preparations for the Mahakumbh in 2025, and has said the state's management should meet the expectations of India and the world.

Aityanath stated that the Mahakumbh in 2025 must represent the "new Uttar Pradesh" of the "new India" and should highlight the state's administrative capacity, rich culture, and tourism opportunities.

At the first high-level meeting on Thursday in Prayagraj, Adityanath drew up a plan for the Mahakumbh, the Uttar Pradesh government announced in a news release.

Every one of Uttar Pradesh's 24 crore residents has the chance to showcase the state's potential to the rest of the globe. He said, good project implementation and execution should be used to foster teamwork and project management over the next two years.

The chief minister also threatened officers who displayed leniency with harsh punishment. He gave instructions for the creation of a committee to oversee the weekly project monitoring under the authority of the divisional commissioner.

Adityanath said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi effectively oversaw the 2019 Kumbh in Prayagraj, which set new norms for cleanliness, security, and order.

He said, the Mahakumbh should be promoted as a superb initiative to highlight both India's cultural history and its administrative power.

The chief minister, who placed a strong emphasis on community involvement, also directed that both the quantity and length of existing ghats be extended.

He remarked that in order to sustain "Nirmal Ganga" throughout all the districts from Bijnor to Prayagraj, an action plan should be created to complete the projects on time.
