Maharashtra: 5-storey building collapsed in Mahad, two people dead

Mumbai: A five-storey building collapsed in Mahad tehsil of Raigad district of Maharashtra, around 160 km from Mumbai, around 7 pm on Monday evening. There were about 45-47 flats in this building. Relief and rescue operations are going on after the accident, so far 2 people have died, while 18 people are still stranded.

According to Maharashtra government minister Aditi Thackeray, 3 NDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. About 60 people have been safely evacuated from the debris. Those who are also injured are being treated, many of whom have also been discharged. Those who are in critical condition have been sent to Mumbai for better treatment. The investigation has been started. The special team to investigate this incident.

However, with the severity of the accident, the number of deaths is expected to increase. Maharashtra government ministers Eknath Shinde and Aditi Thackeray both reached the spot after the accident in Mahad's Kajalpura. Taking cognizance of this incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has tweeted. He wrote in the tweet that, "The collapse of a building in Raigad, Maharashtra is very sad. I have spoken to the DG."
