Maharashtra's caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was admitted to Jupiter Hospital in Thane on Tuesday after his health showed no signs of improvement. Doctors have recommended a thorough health check-up, sources said.

When asked about his condition, Shinde assured the public, saying, "Badhiya hai (all good)."

Earlier, on November 30, Shinde's family doctor mentioned that he had been dealing with fever and a throat infection for two days. A team of three to four doctors treated him at his native village in Satara district, Maharashtra. The doctor shared that Shinde had experienced fever, body pain, throat infection, and cold but was recovering well with antibiotics.

Shinde had traveled to his hometown, Dare village in Satara, on Friday. While some reports suggested his visit was linked to dissatisfaction over not being considered for a second term as Chief Minister, Shinde clarified that it was purely for rest following an intense election campaign.

Meanwhile, the suspense surrounding Maharashtra's new Chief Minister will be resolved on December 4, during a BJP legislature party meeting. Senior party leaders, including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, will oversee the session.

Devendra Fadnavis, a two-time former Chief Minister, is widely regarded as the frontrunner for the role. The meeting is set to take place at Vidhan Bhawan on Wednesday morning.

The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance emerged victorious in the November 20 assembly elections, securing 230 out of 288 seats. The BJP claimed 132 seats, while Shiv Sena and NCP won 57 and 41 seats, respectively.

The BJP has announced that the new Chief Minister will take the oath of office at 5 PM on December 5 at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. The event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders. Preparations for the ceremony are in full swing, with Shiv Sena and NCP expected to secure deputy Chief Minister positions in the new government.
