Mumbai: State Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who is on a visit to the Konkan region, which was hit by a cyclonic storm in Maharashtra, is now on target. In fact, the opposition BJP has criticised him. After being criticised, CM Thackeray says, "He was at least taking survey of the situation on the ground and not sitting in a helicopter and conducting an aerial survey". Now his statement is seen as targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In fact, PM Modi conducted an aerial survey in Gujarat this week after cyclone Taukte.

Let us tell you all that CM Thackeray visited Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts in Konkan last Friday to take survey of the ground situation after the cyclonic storm. At the same time, the authorities were issued instructions to assess the damage caused to crops within two days. After all this, BJP leaders in Maharashtra raised questions about the timing of CM Thackeray's visit. First, former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "He was surprised to learn that CM Thackeray was making political remarks on a "just three hour" visit to Konkan.

At the same time, Leader of opposition in the Legislative Council Praveen Darekar asked, "How can the Chief Minister know about the damage caused by the cyclone in just three hours?" On BJP's criticism, CM Uddhav Thackeray now says, 'Well if my visit was four hours. At least I was going to the ground to take survey of the situation and not in a helicopter to be photographed. I am a photographer myself". CM Thackeray said at Malwan in Sindhudurg, 'I am not here to respond to the opposition's criticism'.
