Mumbai: Maharashtra, which is most battling corona infections in the country, has also overtaken the forefront of corona vaccination. By Thursday, more than 50 lakh people had been vaccinated in the state. Maharashtra has become the first state in the country to vaccinate so many people.

Dr. Pradeep Vyas, Principal Secretary, Health Department, Maharashtra said that we are the top five states in the country with the highest corona vaccination. He said 6 lakh 72 thousand 128 people have also been given a second dose of vaccine in the state. With this, 50 lakh 14 thousand 774 people have been vaccinated in the first dose so far. With the second wave of corona intensifying, it is a relief that a total of 531 crore people have been vaccinated in the country till Thursday. Coming to the total figure, it has gone up to 5 crores 31 lakh 45 thousand 709.

Meanwhile, according to data from the Union Health ministry, 31,885 new corona patients have been found in Maharashtra on Wednesday. On the same day, 15098 have been discharged from the hospital, while 95 people have died. Talking about the country in the last 24 hours, a total of 53,476 new corona positives were found and 251 people died. Most of the corona infected are being found in Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat. These states are receiving 77.44 percent of the total cases of patients in the country.
