Maharashtra may face lockdown amid resurging corona cases in state

Mumbai: The outbreak of corona in Maharashtra has been steadily increasing. On Friday, 10,216 new Corona cases have been reported in the state. At the same time, 53 people have died. At the same time, 6467 infected people have been discharged from the hospital after treatment in the last 24 hours. While 20,55,951 people have been recovered so far. With this, the number of infected in the state has increased to 21,98,399. At the same time, 52,393 people have lost their lives.

There are 88,838 active cases in Maharashtra. Earlier on Thursday, 8998 cases of corona infection were reported in the state and 60 people died. Considering the ever-increasing corona cases in Maharashtra, speculations are being made that CM Uddhav Thackeray may order to implement the lockdown. CM Uddhav Thackeray recently said that we should be ready for another lockdown if the cases of corona infection do not come down in the coming days.

He expressed displeasure and said, 'I do not want to ban, but if people do not strictly follow the Corona Guidelines, then there is no other option.' In view of increasing cases, the administration has implemented a lockdown in the Amravati district till 8 March. Lockdown has also been extended to Akola, Akot, and Murjitpur to break the transmission chain.
