Mumbai: Maharashtra Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey has recently written a letter to state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. In it, he has written that former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh should be made to another officer on charges of alleged connivance with the underworld. In fact, the state government has entrusted DGP Sanjay Pandey with the responsibility of investigating Param Bir Singh's nexus with the underworld. On the other hand, DGP Sanjay Pandey has now written to the Chief Minister saying that he should be removed from the probe and another officer should be handed over the inquiry.

In fact, Sanjay Pandey is an officer against whom there is not a single allegation. Param Bir Singh had approached the Bombay High Court on April 29. During that time, he had told the court that DGP Sanjay Pandey himself told him that he himself had fought the system all his life, but nothing happens to the system. Sanjay Pandey advised Param Bir Singh that he too should not fight the system and pressured him to withdraw the case against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

At the same time, Param Bir Singh also produced some WhatsApp chat transcripts before the court. Meanwhile, a Mumbai Police official wrote to the government saying Param Bir Singh had connived with the underworld. Not only that, but the officer also presented some evidence. The Maharashtra government then asked Maharashtra DGP Sanjay Pandey to look into the matter.
