Mumbai: The issue of Swapnil's suicide came up during the state assembly session today. In fact, despite passing the Maharashtra Public Service Commission examination, there was no interview for two years, no appointment. Disappointed with this, a young man named Swapnil Lonekar from Pune committed suicide by hanging himself. The issue of Swapnil's suicide remained the talk of the town in the state assembly session today. Meanwhile, leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis read out swapnil's suicide note in the assembly session and said, "The state government is not serious about MPSC. Lakhs of youth in the state are waiting for exams, interviews and jobs. What was the Government doing till such an incident took place?"

Speaking on the issues questions raised by the Opposition, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar made an important announcement. Recently, Ajit Pawar announced that "All vacant posts of MPSC will be filled up by 31st July, 2021". Moreover, Ajit Pawar said, "The issue raised by opposition leaders in the House about the suicide of Swapnil Lonekar, who passed the MPSC examination, is a very sad incident. Such an incident should not happen to anyone. The government convened a cabinet meeting on the issue and in this meeting the Chief Minister held discussions with all the colleagues and asked them to take necessary steps".

Ajit Pawar also said, "All I have to say to the opposition and the people is that Swapnil Lonekar appeared for the pre-state engineering examination in 2019. The main examination was held on 24th November 2019. The result of the examination came on 28th July, 2020. 3671 candidates qualified in this examination. The examination was conducted for 1200 posts. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court stayed the decision on the SCBC class issue on September 9, 2020. Because of this, all the procedures had to be stopped. Due to this, interviews could not be conducted for the qualified candidates. In the meantime, there was a period of covid infection. Since MPSC is an autonomous body, the Commission, in exercise of its authority, cancelled the examination. The Chief Minister immediately intervened and contacted the Chairman of the Commission. The chief minister told that despite autonomy, such a decision was not appropriate".

At the same time, the Deputy Chief Minister also said, "Swapnil should not have taken the step he took in despair. In the Cabinet meeting yesterday (Sunday), we seriously considered this issue. All the colleagues expressed their views. The Chief Minister gave his clear opinion. Today, I would like to tell the House that the Government will fill up all the vacant MPSC vacancies by 31st July, 2021. We will not allow any obstruction to come".
