Maharashtra: Apart from Maharashtra, the auspicious festival of Navratri has begun all over the country from today. The festival explains the nine forms of Goddess Durga and nine forms are worshipped during this. In view of the growing threat of corona infection, the state government has kept temples closed everywhere for the last 6 months. Maharashtra is also involved in this, but on the first day of Navratri, two major temples of the state, Mumba Devi in Mumbai and Mahalakshmi temple in Kolhapur, have seen a huge crowd of devotees. The doors of both the temples were closed, but even though devotees bowed down to the goddess from outside the temple.

However, online darshan service for devotees has been started in both the temples, which devotees are also enjoying. Mangala Aarti took place on the first day of Navratri after the Abhishek-Pujan of Mumbadevi. During Mangala Aarti, devotees appeared to visit the goddess from outside the temple. Later in the morning, Mahaaarti took place. Even after the lockdown in the Corona period, the temple priests performed Mangala Aarti, Maha Aarti, Bhog Aarti, Dhoop Aarti, Evening Mahaaarti and Shayan Aarti at the stipulated time.

In the meantime, Pandit Sandeep Bhatt, the priest of the temple, said, "In the normal days, there is an influx of devotees from all over the country and abroad for the darshan of Mumba Devi. There is also no place to stand in the temple complex, but in the cradle of government directives in lockdown due to corona epidemic, it is being worshipped as per the prescribed methodology and rule. A special adoration of the Kuldevi of Mumbaikars will continue till the countrymen get full relief from this epidemic."
