Maharashtra: 3000 metric tonnes of oxygen to be produced everyday to deal with third wave of corona

Mumbai: The second wave of corona virus has wreaked havoc across the country. The Maharashtra government has even started preparations to deal with the third wave. Elaborate arrangements are being made to ensure that no one loses their lives due to lack of oxygen in the third wave. The government estimates that the demand for oxidation may increase during the third wave and it may increase to 2300 MT. Due to this, the State Government has set a target of producing 3,000 Metric Tonnes of oxygen every day.

Preparations have also started for the same. Maharashtra has a capacity of 1300 metric tonnes of oxygen production every day as per the information of the CM office. The state is said to have a demand of 1800 MT every day at present. According to an estimate, the demand for oxygen during the third wave may increase from 1800 MT to 2300 MT every day. Now, for this, the State Government has decided to give special incentives to industries under Mission Oxygen Swavalamban.

At the same time, emphasis is being laid on further strengthening of health infrastructure. Let me tell you that it includes a lot of things including oxygen production, storage. The Government has already started working on all these aspects. Let us also tell you that there is already a decline in cases of corona infection in Maharashtra but the situation is still not satisfactory. In the last 24 hours, 40,956 new cases have been reported and 793 people have lost their lives. At the same time, 77,191 people have lost their lives due to infection so far.
