Mumbai: The coronavirus infection has once again started increasing across the country. In fact, in the last few days, the cases of Covid-19 infection have been reported rapidly. However, the relief at this time is that the number of people recovering from corona infection has also seen an increase. However, among all these, cases of infection from sub-variant BA.5 of Omicron have been found in Maharashtra. In fact, the Health Department of Maharashtra has given information about this. He says two people have been found to be infected with BA.5, a sub-variant of the omicron.

It is being told that the samples of both the patients were sent to NIV Pune and both the infected are from outside Maharashtra. According to reports, due to professional reasons, they were living in rural areas of Pune. According to the health department, both of them were found corona positive in regular tests at Pune airport while returning from Dubai. Regarding this case, the health department says that at present, in the cases of both the infected people, they have not shown any symptoms of any kind and they have also fully recovered during the isolation. Apart from this, the health department has informed that there is a surge in the cases of BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants of Omicron in Maharashtra.

At the same time, the number of cases of BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants of Omicron has reached 160 in Maharashtra so far. This includes 93 in Pune, 51 in Mumbai, 5 in Thane, 4 in Nagpur, 4 in Palghar and 3 in Raigad. Amidst all this, 2,515 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Maharashtra during the last 24 hours on Friday and six people have also died due to Covid-19 infection in the state. With this, the number of recoveries has increased by 2,449 during the last 24 hours.
