Importance of Maha Shivaratri
According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Mahashivaratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi of the Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month. It is believed that Shiva and Parvati were married on this day. It is believed that Lord Shiva is pleased by offering a lota of water on Lord Shiva on Mahashivaratri and fulfills all the wishes of his devotees.

Shivaratri Puja Method
- Make Lord Shankar bathe with Panchamrit on Shiva night.
- Offer 8 lotus water of saffron.
- Light the lamp all night.
- Apply sandalwood tilak.
- Offer three Belpatras, Bhang Dhatur, Tulsi, Nutmeg, Lotus Gatte, Fruit, Confection, Sweet Pan, Perfume and Dakshina. At first, distribute prasad by offering saffron with saffron.
Offering all the remedies in worship, chant "Om Namo Bhagavate Rudray", Om Namah Shivaya Rudraya Shambhayav Bhawanipataye Namo Namah Mantra.
