Controversial film critic Mahesh Kathi has been arrested by Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police on Friday. Going into details, Mahesh Kathi reportedly shared an objectionable post on Lord Shri Ram and several Hindu organizations have raised objections over this. The Hindu groups have also lodged a complaint against Mahesh Kathi. The Cyber Crime cops have stepped into action and questioned Mahesh on several occasions.
Furthermore, he was arrested today and was later sent to Osmania hospital. Then Mahesh was produced before the Nampalli Court and the court has put him in remand. Before his arrest, Mahesh took his Facebook and wrote, “In the morning, cyber police picked me up to serve notice against a complaint given in February 2020 in regard to my comments about Rama’s character in Ramayana at a closed meeting (of Bahujan Writers) in Osmania University. I really wonder what did the police do so far about a life-threatening physical attack by some goons on 14th February 2020 on me at Imax theatre.
In this country, so-called religious sentiments are more important than life-threatening attacks. So much for freedom of expression.” This is not the first instance of Mahesh Kathi getting into controversies. Earlier he was barred from the city for his fight with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan fans.
