Punjab: A shocking revelation in the seed scam case

Former minister Bikram Singh Majithia and Jail Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa have come face-to-face with the Corona crisis and the lockdown scandal recently raised by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Majithia has demanded Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to accept the offer related to the investigation of Randhawa and order a CBI inquiry into the case. On the other hand, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has said that he is ready for investigation on time, but the Akali Dal should also accept responsibility for the wrong done in their time.

Talking to the media in Chandigarh on Wednesday, Majithia said that Randhawa was acting as the spokesperson of Karnal Agri Seeds, the main culprit of this scam, due to which all the culprits can be arrested through independent investigation in the case. Majithia and Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that 15 days have passed since the Department of Agriculture filed FIR against selling fake seeds of PR-128 and PR-129 and looting farmers. There has been no attempt to raid it.

In his statement, he said that no arrests have been made in this case and it seems that the government is giving time to these scams to destroy all the evidence and make false records. He said that Randhawa is trying to fool people by maintaining ambiguity about the nature of the investigation, while delaying the investigation has sent a message that the government does not want the truth to be revealed. He said that the way the main accused in the case, Lucky Dhillon, has been allowed to hold a press conference to find him not guilty, it has strengthened this belief.
