Chennai: On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi in Tamil Nadu, there is a piece of bad news about a major accident. Two persons lost their lives on the spot after a Ganesh chariot came in contact with an electric wire in the Sokkanathan Puthur area of Virudhunagar district. 3 people are said to be badly injured in the incident.

Giving information about the incident, the Virudhunagar district collector said that a bare electric wire was lying on the route through which the Ganesh Rath Yatra was going. Due to the contact between the chariot and wire, there was a strong current and this accident happened. According to the collector, the accident is being investigated.
