Dehradun: Makar Sankranti is being celebrated across the country today. The police administration has banned bathing due to corona virus in Dharmanagari. Police force is deployed in Harki Padi area in heavy statistics. Harki Padi area has been sealed. Devotees are not seen in Harki Padi area. Such a scene has never been seen before on Harki Padi. People are bathing at many other ghats except Harki Padi.

In view of the Corona virus, the district administration has banned makar sankranti bathing to be held today. All roads were sealed from 12.00 p.m. to prevent devotees from reaching Harki Padi and other Ganga Ghats. In addition, officers have been deployed by dividing the entire mela area into four zones and eight sectors.

On Thursday, SSP Dr Yogendra Singh Rawat held a meeting with the police personnel at Kamaldas's Kutiya Traffic Police Line in North Haridwar before sending them on duty. He said the borders and Harki Padi area will remain the seal of devotees coming for ganga bathing. All gazetted officers and police station in-charge will also carry photography-video cameras with them. The announcement machines at the border, Harki Padi and nearby ghats of the district will continuously appeal to the devotees. Police continued to be strict on Thursday at the district border to prevent those coming from outside states and districts for bathing.
