New Delhi: Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed displeasure over the delay in declaring the dates for the Gujarat Assembly elections. On Tuesday, he taunted that PM Modi is yet to inaugurate many bridges like Morbi. That's why it's getting late. Expressing deep sorrow over the Morbi bridge accident, he has blamed the negligence of the BJP government for this.

He has demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident and said that accountability should be fixed about the incident so that such incidents do not happen in the future. Kharge further said that 'PM Modi is on a visit to Gujarat for the last 6 days. The election schedule for Himachal Pradesh has been released but the election schedule for Gujarat has not been announced as PM Modi has to inaugurate many more bridges there like the one that collapsed in Morbi.'

Kharge told the press persons in Delhi that, 'It is expected from the Government of Gujarat that they should arrange immediate medical attention for the injured and search for the missing at the earliest, as well as provide appropriate financial assistance to the families of the injured and the dead.' Demanding a judicial inquiry into this accident, he has said, 'This is not the time to do politics, but the accountability of this accident must be fixed, only then such incidents can be prevented in future.'
